Thank you Tony for showing us your Shop!

Sometimes there are special gatherings that happen outside of the church building.  On Sunday, many of us from Spirit of Grace headed to The Boar House which is Tony Perkins Motorcycle Shop.  It was so much fun seeing all the different bike styles and classic cars along with hearing the complexities of fine tuning a bike.  Thank you Tony and Cheryl!  We had a great time!

In His Presence ~ Saturday, January 23rd, 2010

Spirit of Grace Church welcomed churches from the Twin Cities and Duluth to gather together in a special service titled "In His Presence."  Our Praise team along with the Praise Team from Spirit of Life led us in several songs.  Then, Pastor Tim's message was about being delivered.  His message was very powerful and there was a mighty move of God following the message.  The Lord met us in a very special way.  We hope today you find comfort in knowing that the Lord loves you and we hope to see you at Spirit of Grace.

Crunch Time

Time is flying by. Prep-arations are winding down. Last minute practices are being held. Here are a few glimpses into what I saw at church tonight.
*****

Guess you could start in by saying . . . . .
'twas the week before the program and all through the church
costumes were found after a long search
The tables were set up in the sanctuary with care
Someone make sure the tablecloths arrive there
The children have practiced and practiced some more
spoken their lines til there voices were sore
. . . . .

You will have to finish the poem
I gotta grab some cookies and head home!

Christmas!

Are you ready? It will be here before we know it! Cookies are baking and trees are being decorated. The Church building is decked out and looking great (thanks Trisha!). BUT, is that all there is to it?? No, certainly not!

At this time of year, the gatherings at Spirit of Grace are on hold until we get to the BIG one, the annual program and banquet, on Sunday, December 20 at 10 am. We are busy! Pastor Tim is teaching about Christmas. The ladies are collecting items for those less fortunate. The kids are practicing for the program. The men are looking forward changing the sanctuary into a dinner theater.

Still, that's not all. The bottom line is, it's about Jesus. It's about a baby wrapped in swaddling clothes who grew up to be our Saviour. It's all about Immanuel, God with us!

If you are struggling at this time of year, whether it be the hustle and bustle getting you down or just thinking "What's it all about??", then come and join us on the 20th. We extend a warm welcome to EVERYONE to come out and join us for this annual gathering. But more than a program and a meal, we want you to feel the presence of Jesus! He truly is the reason for the season!

A few dates to remember...

We are looking forward to our Christmas presentation and dinner on Sunday, December 20th at 10 a.m. This will be a special day where our Children's ministries presents the Christmas story in a unique and wonderful way. We will also serve a wonderful dinner following the service. We hope everyone can attend.

On Saturday, January 23rd at 2 p.m., Spirit of Grace Church will be hosting a special fellowship service for churches from Minnesota and Wisconsin. We hope everyone can attend. We will have some refreshments following the service and if weather permits our young people can go skating and/or sledding on the big hill next door. We will have a great time in the presence of God together!

First Sunday Feast!

A week ago Sunday, Keith and I had a hankering for Rocky Rococo's pizza. We like it so much. We asked a couple others to join us following service. They could not go on such short notice--other committments. So, we agreed to go the following Sunday. We decided to open the pizza date to the whole church and sent out an email saying so and giving the location. Keith was nice and called the local Rocky Rococo to let them know we were coming--about 20 people!

What fun it was to have everyone eat lunch together! We sat and talked and laughed and just plain enjoyed one another. The kids colored, courtesy of Rocky's picture contest and crayons. Wish I had pictures but failed to bring a camera :( Noah and Declynn had a fun time playing peek-a-boo!

We liked it so much that we have decided to do it again! So, look for an announcement of the next First Sunday (of the month) Feast. The site and style of food will change each month. (Each family is responsible to pay for their own food.) It's a time for us to connect and fellowship. Come and join the fun. We'd like you to be more than friends--we'd like you to be part of our church family.
